Versace Home by Gardenia Orchidea at Salone Internazionale del Mobile
The Salone del Mobile is the global benchmark for the Home Furnishing Sector.
An invaluable tool for the industry as well as an ongoing, quite extraordinary promotional vehicle.
The Salone made its first appearance in 1961, designed to promote Italian furniture and furnishing accessories on the export market, and it has continued to do so impeccably, ensuring that the quality of Italian furniture is known to all four corners of the earth, and continues so to do, with half of all its visitors coming from around the world.
In 1965 the leading furnishing sector companies were brought together in one single commercial exhibition space for the very first time. 1965 was also the year in which exhibitors began to devote serious thought to their stands, a factor that will always make the Salone stand out against other trade fairs; the first collateral event was also held in 1965, and Domus devoted its leading article to the Salone that same year.

In 2005, Gardenia went through its first, major rearrangement, which brought Gardenia Orchidea to become a leader on the white paste (bitech) panels market. The new high-tech plant enabled the company to make the most of the experience gained in the use of high-resolution digital printing technology, which it had started experimenting with since 2000, the first one to do so in Italy, in its processing lines for special pieces and ceramic finishes.
Nowadays, the company is getting ready to go through one further renovation of its porcelain stoneware-manufacturing site.
Its General Manager, Massimo Bonezzi, has allocated a substantial investment (about 15 million euros) to a forward-looking site with technical and technological solutions that are in tune with today's market and can respond to the requirements of the future market.
A processing plant for large and very large panels, developed in conjunction with the technological research centre SACMI. A combination of excellence and innovation in an integrated high-tech solution.
The new latest-generation press PH10000 by SACMI for large size panels, 3 new glazing lines, equipped with state-of-the-art digital and intaglio matrix technology.
Automatic storage of materials all along the processing chain will make for an accurate, efficient tracking of each production run, for excellent quality in every single production process.
The new 110-metre oven provided with the best, most innovative technology to reduce energy consumption up to 30% is just the last of the responses that Gardenia has given to the problem of energy efficiency in the last few years.
So, a site that looks to the future but which also cares for environmental and ecological standards, in response to people's increasing keenness on the quality of life and the surrounding environment.
Innovation, integration, efficiency and automation, flow and process control, all designed to keep offering the high aesthetic and technical standards that Gardenia Orchidea's products have been known for in the last 50 years. Then, all this will have to be set into a new organisational framework that will fully meet the need for efficiency and dynamism that are typical of today's market.
At a time that is generally difficult for the ceramic industry, where delocalisation seems to be the operative word, once again Gardenia Orchidea has set off on a process of renewal, a general shakeup that focuses on the need to translate Italian-made products not just into aesthetic terms, but above all into productive factors. Keeping our manufactures in our ceramic district is the best guarantee to retain and develop the international leadership of our industry while authoritatively responding to the increasing demand for high quality, exclusive products.
